Kosciuszko Days in Washington DC
On October 14th and 15th the Embassy of Poland in Washington, DC will organize two events promoting the Year of Kosciuszko. We invite everyone to take part in the Kosciuszko Freedom Run and in a special wreath laying ceremony at the Kosciuszko Monument in Lafayette Square next to the White House.
We would like to warmly invite you, your friends and families to take part in our Kosciuszko Freedom Run 5K, 10K & kids run onSaturday, October 14th at 9:00 AM which will take place at Fletchers Boat House, 4940 Canal Rd NW, Washington, DC.
Registration is free and open to the public. Our Embassy is organizing this run as part of The Year of Kosciuszko, which marks the 200th anniversary of General Thaddeus Kosciuszko’s passing.
We hope you will join us at what is sure to be an exciting morning. Unique medals and various prizes for the winners of different age groups, and additional honors for best runners from the DC diplomatic community and kids. Refreshments, delicious Polish pastries and great fun guaranteed. Teams welcome!
On Sunday, October 15th at 2:00 PM there will be a commemorative wreath laying ceremony at the Kosciuszko Monument in Lafayette Square next to the White House. The ceremony will include remarks by representatives of the Polish and American governments as well as the Polish-American community. Everyone is invited to join us in honoring Kosciuszko on the 200th anniversary of his passing.
